Scott Gibson
Over the past 20 years, Scott transitioned from a captain on the high school soccer team, to first string couch potato. Setting goals like “lose 15 lbs” or “work out 3 times a week” were just never enough of a challenge to truly motivate a lifestyle change. One day, Scott decided to take a huge leap and set a goal for himself that would undoubtedly force him to make a complete lifestyle change.
In April of 2009, Scott set out to become an Ironman Finisher and signed up to participate in Ironman Florida 2009 in Panama City Beach. This goal was the catalyst to becoming totally in love with all things triathlon. That love has been bittersweet since Scott, a 38 year old male, has grown extremely passionate about the sport, yet a little saddened that he didn’t find its rewards many years ago. Scott completed the 70.3 in Augusta, GA on September 26th, 2009 and Ironman Florida on November 7th, 2009.
Triathlete.FM is just another means for Scott to connect with the triathlete community and share in the amazing experiences and stories that are a part of the journey for all triathletes.

JD Clockadale
JD’s first triathlon involved a mountain bike with cage pedals and knobby tires, baggy running shorts, and he weighed in at 225 lbs. He ambled to the starting line in the Clydesdale division (something about fat horses, he thinks) and the guy behind him commented “that guy is way too big to race!” Although he was a broken and sore version of his former self, he has been hooked ever since.
After that first race, JD went on the compete in several Olympic distance races in Georgia (he even managed to race the skinny guys and do pretty damn well), finished 3 Ironmans (Florida twice and Wisconsin once), several old school Gulf-Coast half-ironmans (back when you got free beer after the race) and for some reason he decided to swim 4.5 miles across lake Chatuge in Hayesville, NC, then turn right back around and do it again.
JD’s competitive nature made him race. His experiences as a triathlete made him fall in love with the sport. What other race can you compete in, other than Ironman, where the crowd gets bigger, the people get louder, and the true spirit of the sport shines brighter the longer the race clock ticks.
He has had the more fortunate experience of supporting his wife in her Ironman finish, perhaps what he would call his “best Ironman ever”.
A few months ago, Scott, his newbie-triathlete friend, approached him about starting Triathlete.FM. A chance to reconnect with old friends, meet new ones, and share experiences was too tempting to pass up. JD and Scott are looking forward to building and making this journey together and with all of you.
